Overview

Whilst BoldChat promotes its product(s) heavily via a free version, the free version is quite limited in capability and branding when compared to the Pro version.

Setting up of BoldChat is relatively simple, and the documentation is well thought out and planned.

The BoldChat user interface is extremely simple to use, and compares easily to other popular live chat applications, such as LivePerson.

BoldChats strength lies in its desktop based operator client as well as the ability to run the operator client via a web browser, unlike other chat applications that only allow one or the other.

BoldChat has 24 hour support via its own product, live chat and email support. Whilst the support is obviously outsourced, the support personel seem quite savvy and deal with most technical problems fluently.

Popup chat windows can be completely customized, except for a small "Powered by BoldChat" button.

Technology

BoldChat uses both a .NET based windows client and a web based client running off boldchat.com, so it doesnt require any web server installations.

Yes, BoldChat comes with a free version, that can be used for an unlimited period of time, however it is quite limited in comparison to the lite and pro versions.
